IMAGES: tips and tricks

• When you book a workshop, you can upload your desired image

• We offer both medium and large sizes. Choose the size based on how detailed your design is!

• If you want to turn a photo of your pet into a rug, please use an AI app to convert it into a simple, flat cartoon-style image before uploading it

• You may change your image any time 1 day before your class, learn how here

• For the best results, choose images with: 2-3 colors, clearly defined lines, simple shapes, and a flat cartoon-style

The medium size is great if you want to experience tufting.

The large size is better for more complex designs.

ROUGH SCHEDULE OF WORKSHOP DAY

1-2pm : Practice

  • studio tour

  • group intros

  • intro to tools

  • hands-on practice

2-4pm : create

  • pick out yarn colors

  • follow your design outline

  • (medium size will finish around 3-4pm)

5-6pm : Finishing touches

  • glue

  • trim backing

  • shave

  • aftercare instructions

  • tufting is a type of textile manufacturing method where a thread is inserted into a cloth base

  • first 24hrs: evenly apply heavy weights on top to allow the glue to adhere to the backing fabric

    next 24hrs: expose the backside to direct sunshine to allow the glue to fully dry

    continued care: only wash with a steamer and spot clean, the rug is NOT washing machine safe!

  • when you book a workshop, you should receive a confirmation email. select “Change/Cancel Appointment” to upload your new image

  • yes, there is $30 fee for the second peopl

  • We have two sizes available upon booking.

    Small (up to 15×15 inches) which starts at $99 per person

    Medium (up to 25×30 inches) which starts at $175/per person
